Enter the 400 year old man

On Monday we found out that the local Gompa was about to receive a visit from a very special Tibetan Lama, reputed to be over 400 years old (reincarnated of course)

So bracing myself, stick in hand, I set out for the steep climb to the monastery. Up there it was all hands on deck as the monks raced around preparing for the big event.

Then close to the appointed hour all the monks in full regalia, moved to the front, formed a line on both sides of the road and waited, and waited. Twice there were false starts, only to find that it was just Indian tourists who jumped jumped out if the jeeps.

90 very chilly minutes later the venerated Lama pulled up and a delighted ensemble banged gongs, blew trumpets and horns and led him I to the Gompa.

The arrival ceremony link repeated below just in case first doesn't work. http://youtu.be/ZbPiMnSg4xo
